Program-outline:This workshop will be part of a Stochastic Activity Month on Stochastic Operations Management. The expected number of participants for the workshop is 60. The program will feature keynote lectures by three internationally renowned researchers. Around 15 additional speakers will give invited presentations. Furthermore, the organizing committee is planning a panel discussion on the topic of the future of the theme as well as an open problem discussion and a poster session.

Description: Each year the “Werkgemeenschap Scientific Computing” (WSC) organizes a three-day conference on scientific computing in Woudschoten, Zeist. In the WSC all groups active in scientific computing at universities in the Netherlands (including CWI) and Flanders (Belgium) participate. The attendance of this conference during the past 10 years has been 100-140 people. Many PhD students and staff members of the participating groups attend this conference.

13th International workshop Optimization

Description: OIPE-2014 is an international and interdisciplinary forum for mathematicians, physicists and engineers to meet and discuss ideas on recent developments in optimization and inverse problems in computational electromagnetic fields. Emphasis lies on the design and optimization of electromagnetic devices such as machines, transformers, actuators and measurement equipment used in various applications.
Given the importance of computational electromagnetism in this workshop, the workshop has the interest of Centre for Analysis, Scientific computing and Applications (CASA) at the TU Eidhoven (Prof.dr. ir. Wil Schilders) and of the Department of Applied Mathematics at the TU Twente (Prof. dr ir. Jaap van der Vegt and dr. Mike Botchev).
Program-outline: Three day program with two invited speakers, contributing speakers and posters.
