Mathematics and Big Data
Big Data promises to revolutionize our lives and our industry. However, a major challenge is extracting sensible information from massive datasets, using current hardware, software and last but not least mathematical methods.
On Friday 8 April 3TU.AMI (3TU Applied Mathematics Institute) organised a workshop on Mathematics and Big Data with contribution of NIRICT (Netherlands Institute for Research on ICT). The event was hosted at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science (EEMCS) of TU Delft. Five renowned speakers from outside the three universities were invited to talk about how their research linked to Big Data. With 170 registered participants, the subject certainly struck a chord with the audience.
