JOIN THE 3RD LEARNING SPACES TOUR AT TU/E

Discover the added value of innovative learning spaces for education during the learning spaces tour! On our third stop, 8 October, we will visit TU/e. You will visit the learning spaces on the campus and gain insight in related ongoing innovative projects. We will end the day with a round table discussion on topics such as: involving society and industry in education, and how to intergrate curricular with extracurricular activities in innovation spaces.

CALL FOR PROPOSALS MATHEMATICS IN/FOR ENGINEERING EDUCATION

The call for proposals of the IJRUME special on Mathematics in/for Engineering Education is open till 31 August 2019. The aim of this special issue is to bring together the best research on innovative teaching and learning practices in mathematics in engineering education and to develop deeper understandings of the characteristics of current teaching and learning practices that can inform the design and implementation of future innovative practices. The new Innovation Map makes it easier for lecturers and support education staff to find tools, tips & tricks and background information on innovations in engineering education. WORKSHOP CULTURALLY APPROPRIATE AND EFFECTIVE FEEDBACK

DEVELOPING A LEARNING GAINS FRAMEWORK FOR ENGINEERING EDUCATION

At Eindhoven University of Technology, students participate in different courses to obtain their degree in engineering education. But what do they actually learn during their time at university? TEACHING GENERAL RELATIVITY TO UPPER SECONDARY STUDENTS

In 2015 the physics curriculum was updated for upper secondary education. The updated curriculum contains modern physics topics such as quantum physics and relativity. To the disappointment of Stanley Delhaye, researcher at TU/e, relativity only meant special relativity, whilst it is general relativity theory that led to the most recent achievements in physics. Delhaye felt he had to do something about this omission and is now developing and evaluating curriculum materials to teach general relativity to upper secondary students. Read more…

 

 

 

OVERVIEW PHD RESEARCHERS

One of the main goals of 4TU.CEE is the dissemination of knowledge about Engineering Education. Numerous PhD students have been or are conducting research within Higher Engineering Education, but they are rarely familiar with each other’s research. On the 4TU.CEE website an overview can be found of these (former) PhD students and their thesis. Amongst them are also PhD students who are conducting research for 4TU.CEE. WORKSHOP: HOW TO BEAT PROCRASTINATION

On 30 August a 1-day workshop is given at WUR, designed to support lecturers who struggle with procrastinating tendencies of their students. It will provide you with useful information and strategies that will support you in helping students to develop the mind-set and the capacity to start and finish their projects on time!
