Learn more about our TOM education in a 1 or a 1.5 day seminar on the 5th (and the 6th) of February 2019. 

During the learning spaces tour you will visit innovative learning spaces at the four universities of technology and gain insight in related ongoing innovative projects. We will focus on the added value of the innovative learning space for education. The first learning tour took place at AMS Institute in January. Our next stop is WUR campus on the 12th of March. A 2-day course designed for teaching staff at 4TU universities

On 22 and 23 May 4TU.CEE is organising a lunch presentation and workshop on the theme ‘Interdisciplinary Team work Skills’.  Bjørn Sortland and Reidar Lyng of NTNU Trondheim and Hanne Løje of DTU will visit the University of Twente on the 22nd and TU Delft on the 23rd to share their experiences with interdisciplinary courses. You are most welcome to join the lunch presentation and/or the workshop.

The Center for Higher Education Policy Studies (CHEPS) is organising a conference on "Enhancing quality in Higher Education" on 25 and 26 June at the University of Twente. Researchers, practitioners and professionals in higher education who are committed to improving the quality of teaching and learning are invited to join.

Education systems around the world are calling for transformative change to meet the challenges of a rapidly-changing, technology-enhanced environment in the context of increasing diversity and inequality in society. However doing things in new ways requires more than the acquisition of new skills and knowledge, it also requires new mind-sets and dispositions.

A 1-day workshop designed to support lecturers who struggle with procrastinating tendencies of their students. It´s been said that all procrastination is delay, but not all delay is procrastination. It will provide you with useful information and strategies that will support you in helping students to develop the mind-set and the capacity to start and finish their projects on time!

During this workshop you will become acquainted with diverse ways of giving effective feedback, which can help you manage student performance in a transcultural context. You will practice methods that are very useful. You will learn what feedback can mean in an intercultural context, how it affects the learning process, and what the impact is of the message you communicate to others. The workshop focuses on feedback in the international classroom as well as in other professional settings in higher education. Diverse methods will be practiced. Personal inventories, critical incidents and questionnaires will be used as tools to develop and enhance your spectrum of giving feedback and become more effective in the learning process.

When topics such as cultural differences, politics, gender and religious practices are discussed, even the most well-meaning can make painful mistakes that can lead to cultural conflict and misunderstanding. In this training, you are guided through some of the most challenging topics in the field of inclusion, such as micro-aggression, cultural appropriation and implicit bias. Furthermore you will be trained in this 1-day workshop how to create an inclusive environment in the 21st century.
