Project introduction and background information

The AI in Education Initiative provides a comprehensive suite of resources and services designed to help educators and students responsibly integrate generative AI into teaching and learning. At its core is a centralized AI in Education Portal, which hosts bestā€‘practice guidelines, studentā€‘focused support materials, and stepā€‘byā€‘step howā€‘to's for using AI tools effectively. Complementing the portal are a series of interactive workshopsā€”ranging from introductory sessions on AI literacy to advanced seminars on pedagogical integrationā€”alongside bespoke training delivered directly to academic programs, graduate schools, and student organizations.

To ensure handsā€‘on support, the Initiative operates a oneā€‘onā€‘one consultancy service and a dedicated helpdesk email address, enabling course teams to receive tailored guidance on redesigning assessments, embedding AI activities into curricula, and navigating emerging ethical considerations. A technical evaluation report on AIā€‘detection tools (such as Turnitin), complete with a user manual, equips instructors with clear insights into tool capabilities and limitations. Finally, the Initiative convened a oneā€‘day AI in Education Hackathon that brings together students and educators to collaboratively prototype AIā€‘enhanced learning experiences, fostering innovation and practical skill development in a focused, fastā€‘paced format.

Outcomes of this project will be (where possible) shared via the EducationSupport website. Sharing documents via the Innovation Map will not take place due to frequent revisions of the material.
