Picture yourself as...
Career opportunities for CME graduates can be found across the full spectrum of the building and construction industry, at home and abroad. Future employers may include building and construction companies, organisations such as insurers with their own project development department, engineering and design offices and consultancy firms, government and NGOs such as Rijkswaterstaat, and institutes of research and education.
Positions may vary from company or division manager, construction supervisor or construction manager to project manager, technical consultant, project engineer or process manager. Given the wide range of knowledge and skills provided by this MSc programme and the current situation within the industry, opportunities are very promising.
4TU Post-MSc programme in Civil Engineering
Instead of directly working in the building- and construction industry, now there is the opportunity to follow one of the Post-Master's designers programmes in Civil engineering at the 4TU Stan Ackermans Institute.
The EngD (Engineering Doctorate) programmes in Civil Engineering train and educate MSc graduates to become a qualified designer, capable of designing âfit for purposeâ and âfirst of its kindâ products, processes and equipment. It encourages to actively look beyond the perimeters of a discipline and to recognise the challenges and restrictions imposed by product chain management, time and money. During design projects the student brings industrial and academic knowledge together and apply them in real industrial assignments. An EngD programme is fulltime and takes two years to complete. During the programme, the trainee spends about half your time working on the design project in a company and during the other part of the programme he/she will attain courses.Â
When the trainee successfully completes the programme, he/she will receive a certified diploma and will be entitled to use the academic degree EngD.
