The Mud Collecting Journey is a toolkit to guide humans when inviting a non-human into their lives. The human-mud relation emphasises interaction between humans and the non-human mud colony and is designed to enhance the sensitivity of inviting non-human stakeholders. The toolkit includes a set of objects that support the Mud Collecting Journey.
In the project we critically review and prepare for changes to the common way of acquiring an organism within (bio)design practices (e.g. ordering the living online). The toolkit supports human users to respectfully invite a non-human (bacteria colony) and find a balanced human-non-human relationship. It raises discussions about non-human agency, care, and designing with the living.
