An increase in the number of STEM students, a shortage of engineers on the labor market and we are facing a multitude of societal challenges. Read the 4TU strategy 2020-2025 in order to learn how the four universities of technology are responding to these and other new issues and joining forces.
New playing field
The playing field in which the four technical universities operate has changed considerably since the federation was founded in 2007. In order to meet the increased intake and the labor market demand for technical graduates, the educational capacity is further expanded every year. At the same time, we are facing a large number of societal challenges in the areas of climate change, energy transition and (urban) construction to mobility, digitisation and health.
In this renewed playing field, 4TU is taking initiatives and joining forces to contribute to these issues. In the coming period, we will create room for other parties to join the 4TU programmes as well.
In our Strategy 2020-2025 you can read how we will approach this in the field of research, education and valorisation.
