The EnergieHelpdesk is the place where scientists answer energy-related questions from the public. It is a collaboration between NERA and the KlimaatHelpdesk.
Many people are looking for reliable and easy-to-understand information about the energy transition. For example, what are the implications for my energy bill? How can energy shortages be resolved? However, finding such information online can be challenging. How do you know whether the information you’re reading is scientifically accurate? In a sea of clickbait and misinformation, it’s often difficult to discern what’s true and who is providing the information.
The EnergieHelpdesk was established to address these challenges. We connect energy-related questions from people across the Netherlands with the right experts, delivering scientific information about energy in a clear and accessible way to the general public. In doing so, we hope to foster a dialogue between scientists and citizens.
Climate change is a complex issue involving numerous disciplines. That’s why we have built a network of active experts—currently over 350—from a variety of fields, including physics, economics, biology, geography, history, law, and psychology. This enables us to address questions from multiple perspectives.
