The latest 4TU.Federationâs newsletter is packed with interesting developments at the Centres. The 4TU centre for Energy is notably visible with an article on rewarded funding for Energy Technology Materials and with three events:
The Energy Community Day 2025, read the report on this successful event; the upcoming 4TU.Responsible Sustainability Challenge workshop on 8 May focussing on Entrepreneurship; and the joint workshop with 4TU.Centre for High-Tech Materials on 13 May. This workshop addresses energy materials and sustainable recycling strategies. Itâs a great opportunity to get together to share knowledge about materials for fuel cells, electrolysers, and CO2 capture and conversion.

Looking back at 4TU.Energy activities helping to accelerate the energy transition
A new initiative to address the energy transition in horticulture led to a successful symposium held at WUR. Also, the annual 4TU.Energy PhD course about "System, Sustainability and Societal Aspects in the Energy Transition" was a success. Different efforts to accelerate the energy transition!

Meet our Energizers! Annemiek ter Heijne and Eli Shirazi, 4TU.Energy Advisory Board members
Annemiek, full professor at the Environmental Technology group at Wageningen University & Research, works on resource recovery technologies. In her vision and work, connection is a very important keyword. Eli, an assistant professor at University of Twente, focuses on modelling and control of energy systems to optimize flows and improve efficiency. Energy Community Day 2024
On 16 April, the second annual 4TU.Energy Community Day was a resounding success! âEnergy Landscape and Funding Opportunitiesâ was this yearâs theme. The room was packed with an engaged audience and the day was filled with inspiring presentations, posters and workshops. Get inspired and access our materials, including an after-movie and photos here.
Milestones events of the 4TU.Responsible Sustainability Challenge
After the milestone event on 8 February at Technical University Eindhoven, the second milestone event was successfully organized on 7 May at Delft University of Technology. The final event will take place in Utrecht, on the 19 June, and marks the end of this yearâs 15 ECTS interuniversity and multidisciplinary Master Honours Programme. More info can also be found here.

4TU researchers join forces to work on SDG 7 Energy Access and aim to carry out transdisciplinary research and education, share findings and insights, connect with the Dutch energy access sector through the NL Energy Compact initiative and with crucial Global South partners.
