Profile
I am an assistant professor in the philosophy section. My research focus on how technologies shape our understanding and experience of our selves and the world we live in, with a specific focus on technologies in healthcare. My research interests are in philosophy of science, philosophy of medicine, and (post)phenomenology of technology
I was a PhD candidate at the Philosophy Department of Twente University. I got my Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy at the Radboud University in Nijmegen, and a Master’s degree in History and Philosophy of Science at Utrecht University. I completed the Master’s with the project Struggling for Objectivity: Theory and Empirical Research in the Early Frankfurt School. In 2014, I won the Essay Prize for Historical Research from the Dutch Embassy in Belgrade with an essay on the political life of the 17th century diplomat Jacob Colyer.
My current research within the project Theoretizing Technological Mediation focuses on how the epistemological function of imaging technologies in the neurosciences give rise to as specific understanding of the human brain and human behavior. My primary research interests are in (post-)phenomenology, critical theory, epistemology, and history and philosophy of science.
