Profile

Cindy is a PhD Candidate at Utrecht University. Her PhD project is a part of the Ethics of Socially Disruptive Technologies programme, which is a ten-year research programme of seven academic institutions in the Netherlands that started in January 2020.  Her project is on The Ethics of Humanoid Robots, and is being supervised by Sven Nyholm, Ingrid Robeyns, Lily Frank and Peter-Paul Verbeek. In her project, she is exploring how the human-likeness of humanoid robots may cause us to question what it means to be human, particularly as it relates to moral status.
