Keje Boersma
Profile
After completing my studies in human geography and planning and philosophy and a few years of teaching at the University of Amsterdam, I was working on my PhD dissertation at Wageningen's philosophy group. My aim and interest lies in exploring the meaning of the notion that "we are in the anthropocene" for an attempt to consider critically a specific contemporary scientific-technological development: gene drive technology. I conduct this exploration by conducting ethnographies of two research groups involved in gene drive development, by critically engaging with the debate about the anthropocene, and by connecting environmental philosophy and philosophy of science and technology in a search for the contours of an anthropocene ethic.
Keje is now a post-doc at the VU University.
