Job description
The five-member interdisciplinary research group funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) aims to develop a classification matrix for ethical aspects in the design of defense technologies. The subject of the project, which is being carried out jointly with the Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH), is the simulated use of such technologies with a particular focus on automated aircraft. Her task is to work closely with her engineering and scientific colleagues in the group to develop the conceptual basis necessary for the responsible development of such technologies. In the sense of “ethics by design”, you will help to ensure the integration of ethical criteria in the design process from the outset in a practice-oriented and technically informed manner.
Personal qualification
- Very good doctorate in philosophy with a focus on applied ethics or in another subject with a focus on applied ethics
- Professional expertise in applied ethics, in particular technology ethics, military ethics, ethical aspects of peace and conflict research
- Experience in communication in interdisciplinary teams
- Knowledge of and a strong interest in technical processes, especially in the field of flight technologies and technical requirements such as programming.
- High communicative and social competence, integrative appearance, initiative, structured and independent way of working, flexibility and commitment
- German language skills or the willingness to acquire them for teaching and organization are required
