Dr. Steffie Hermans-Beijnsberger is a project development officer at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) at the department of Biomedical engineering. She received her degree in Biomedical sciences from the Radboud University in 2014, with a focus on research. She continued doing research at Maastricht University from 2014 ā 2019 at the department of Experimental Biology, which resulted in a PhD degree in May 2019. Her PhD project was focused on non-coding RNAs and their role in the development of heart failure. During her PhD, Steffie discovered a talent for organisation and communication, with a main interest in the biomedical research field. Therefore, she switches to a role as programme manager of a gravitation programme āMaterials-driven regenerationā coordinated at the TU/e by Prof. Carlijn Bouten. After four years and learning all the ins and outs of project management, she moved into her current role as project development officer, where she develops new research projects, attracts funding and manages projects in collaboration with the researchers.
