ZonMw is offering 15 talented researchers the opportunity to do innovative research outside traditional frameworks. With a grant from the Off road programme, they get the opportunity to further develop their out-of-the-box idea or hypothesis during one to one and a half years.
Special recognition to Anique Bellos-Grob and Izadyar Tamadon from the TechMed Centre of the University of Twente for their innovative research:
- Dr Grob is using functional ultrasound to uncover how Sacral Neuromodulation improves fecal incontinence, aiming for better and more cost-effective treatments.
- Dr Tamadon is developing the RISE-U robotic implant system, combining energy harvesting and smart controls to improve urinary function for millions.
