Will Future Computing Bring Us Sustainable Future?
The ambition of this Lorentz workshop "Future Computing for Digital Infrastructures" is to gather Dutch and international scholars to debate on the outlook of future computing paradigm (inspired by previous workshop in 2021). In this workshop we critically reflected on the state-of-the-art, revealed new demands and emerging use cases, outlined essential enablers, and defined a tangible roadmap with concrete collaboration and development milestones. The workshop allowed us to look into pathways toward interoperable, multi-party and open cloud-edge infrastructures as highlighted by the EU’s Manifesto for the Development of the Next-Generation Cloud Infrastructure & Services Capabilities in 2022. From the community perspective, our workshop gathered 50 participants to build up an interdisciplinary team to jointly tackle the identified challenges in future digital infrastructure.
