RECENTRE present on the 38th Annual Conference of the European Health Psychology Society

At the 38th Annual Conference of the European Health Psychology Society we broadened our ties and theoretical grounding from a psychological perspective. Both WP6 on adaptive lifestyle interventions and WP7 on health technology innovation and implementation expanded on their network and knowledge for RECENTRE.

Ana Coiciu from WP6 presented her work on "Navigating the Development of an Adaptive Digital Lifestyle Intervention for Patients: A Rapid Realist Review” gaining new theoretical insights on psychological theories and examples of methodologies for optimising interventions according to patient’s needs. When considering the mechanisms guiding intervention development it is key to (re)conceptualise our knowledge and unravel the black box of intervention mechanisms and behavior change. The conference provided new insights on theoretical grounding and how this could parallel the current realist approach guided by stakeholder involvement.

Meyke Roosink from WP7, presented the consortium’s work on “Integrating implementation during the conceptualization and early development of health technology innovations: the RECENTRE program”. Specifically, RECENTRE operationalizes innovation and implementation in 3 key activities supported by an implementation specialist: 1) contextual inquiry and value specification focusing on a better understanding of current (clinical) practice, 2) supporting interdisciplinary collaboration, and 3) ensure awareness & guidance throughout the project. The conference provided new opportunities for collaboration both within The Netherlands and internationally, for example regarding stakeholder analysis and research support funding.
