I achieved my Bachelorās degree in Applied Mathematics at the University of Tehran in June 2012. In the same year, I got the admission to continue my studies as a graduate student and got my Master degree in Applied Mathematics at the same university after defending my thesis "Neural Networks Modeling for Solving Nonlinear Programming Problems" in June 2014. In August 2014, I started my Ph.D., which was partially funded by Marie Curie Initial Training Network MINO grant. Also during my Ph.D., I worked as an intern in ORTEC for six months. I got my Ph.D. degree in December 2017 by defending my thesis "Aspects of Quadratic Optimization: Nonconvexity, Uncertainty, and Applicationsā.
In the 4TU Resilient Engineering center, organized by gathering experts from different disciplines, we are trying to make the world a better place to live by designing resilient systems. As disruptions are an inevitable part of our lives, having resilient systems would result in having less surprises sprung from disruptions. In my research, I am focusing on developing methodologies for designing resilient networks, including Resilient Supply Chain Networks (RSCN), by brining Mathematical theories into real-life problems. Next to the resilient network, I am also focusing on theoretical and numerical optimization. More specifically, I am an expert in Robust and Nonlinear Optimization and carrying out research on dealing with uncertainties in Supply Chain Management problems.
