In September 2020 I joined TU Delft as Assistant Professor in the group of Hydraulic Structures and Flood Risk in the department of Hydraulic Engineering. My research interests lay on probabilistic modelling of hydroclimatic extremes including stationary and nonstationary extreme value analysis and dependence modelling via copulas functions. I am particularly interested in opposite extremes, such floods and drought, and their combined impact on the environment.
I hold a MSc in Structural Civil Engineering from Politecnico di Milano (2012) and a PhD in Civil Engineering from the University of California, Irvine (2018). I received a personal grant from the European Marie Curie co-fund scheme LEaDing Fellows Postdoctoral Programme to conduct my postdoctoral research at Delft University of Technology with the project ‘A Generalized Framework for Quantifying Coastal Flood Risk in Areas with Multiple Flood Drivers’.
My involvement in the 4TU Centre for Resilience Engineering focuses on the characterizations of hydroclimatic extremes and their interactions in support of resilient solutions for water management.
