Honorary lecture of Carl Folke on Resilience in Leiden on 28 September at 16.00

A cordial invitation to the honorary lecture of Carl Folke on Resilience in Leiden on 28 September. Carl Folke is selected as the winner of the 2022  KNAW Heineken Prize in Environmental Science, which is a very influential prize, with some of the former laureates later receiving Nobel. 

Carl will be in the Netherlands at the end of September and gives a public lecture on September 28th at 16:00 in Naturalis in Leiden. As the members of the KNAW Heineken Prize committee, Lisa Becking (WUR) and Tatiana Filatova (TU/D) are organizing this event in Naturalis and would like to also offer the possibility to the members of the 4TU resilience community and beyond to meet Carl in person and have a discussion.

It's going to be an interactive event, so bring all your thoughts, questions and maybe even critique about resilience studies and planetary boundaries, particularly in relation to complex coupled systems. And of course there will be drinks to ensure that all are energized.

Why is Carl Folke here?

Carl Folke has been selected for the 2022 KNAW Heineken Prize in Environmental Science. He will receive the prize the next day on 29th of Sept at the Trippenhuis of KNAW in Amsterdam, so we get to enjoy his thoughts before all the formalities.
