On 20th of February the First Generation of Smart Energy Buildings & Cities technological designers graduated with a festive ceremony. In a symposium prior to the ceremony these Smart Energy Professionals all pitched their projects in five minutes to the audience. 

In the first week of October the first nine trainees of the two-year post-master’s technological designer’s programme SEB&C of the 3TU School for Technological Design, Stan Ackermans Institute, presented the progress they made with their company assignment. These trainees are the first generation of this programme, which started in January 2012. High-tech subjects like chip technology used to optimize active/reactive power flows in distribution networks in photovoltaic panels as well as a total lighting solution for hospitality were presented by the international students. In January 2014 the trainees will finish their company assignments.

The technological designer’s program Automotive Systems Design (ASD), provided under the common flag of 3TU.School for Technological Design, Stan Ackermans Institute and located at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e), provides a systems approach to problems around mobility and fuel efficient automotive systems, including communication systems and electrical driving, with emphasis on the multidisciplinary design aspects of project-based research and engineering and the challenges that are faced by the automotive high tech industry.

Exciting developments are happening within the educational and industrial field of Health. The two youngest medical technological designer programmes of 3TU.School for Technological Design, Stan Ackermans Institute, Clinical Informatics and Healthcare Systems Design, will soon reward a new generation of technological designers with their diploma, a Professional Doctorate in Engineering (PDEng).The Health domain awaits yet another talented type of technological designer.
