With the introduction of the new certification protocol for Dutch EngD programs, the CCTO ('Certificatie Commissie voor opleidingen tot Technologisch Ontwerper') will conclude its activities after 35 years.
Appreciation
With the 4TU.SAI Stan Ackermans Medal, a token of appreciation for the chair (Anton Stoorvogel) and the secretary (Peter Bos) of the CCTO, the Stan Ackermans Institute wishes to express its gratitude for the longstanding dedication of both gentlemen and all those involved in the CCTO in carrying out a thorough accreditation process for the EngD (formerly PDEng) programs. This care has laid the foundation for the quality assurance of the Dutch EngD program at the Technical Universities of the Netherlands.
The Medal
The 4TU.SAI Stan Ackermans Medal is awarded by the 4TU.Stan Ackermans Institute’s board to individuals who have made exceptional contributions to the post-master’s designer programmes at the four Universities of Technology. The Medal is named in honour of Stan Ackermans, the former rector magnificus at Eindhoven University of Technology who initiated and promoted the designer programmes from 1988 until his untimely death in 1995.
